The Accommodation

It is named the Wombat Cottage, offering guests a rustic Hunter valley stay amongst the stunning 420-acre scenery after an evening sipping the local wine. The cottage was built in 1910, providing a historic charm as cuddle up by the fire after dark. Marvel at the sunset as you stroll from the winery to your accommodation, and slowly wake up when the birds start chirping for a truly relaxing vacation.

Cheese and Chocolate Festival

What goes better with wine than the sweet and savoury delights of chocolate and cheese? This weekend-long event showcases the best delights in town, blending together cheese, chocolate, beer and wine. Stroll through the many stalls and be amazed by the amount of variety and culture this region offers. There are demonstrations on how particular goodies are created, so make sure you double-check the event’s schedule before visiting. As well, this event is not just for the adults visiting but has an array of kid activities for families.  With a completely kid-free zone, a ‘sweet zone’ reserved entirely for the cholate stalls, and live entertainment throughout the event, including grape stomping.

Christmas in July

Why wait for December to enjoy Christmas? Christmas in July is becoming bigger every year, with nothing saying it better than the hearty goodies and winter countryside of Hunter Valley. Showcasing traditional Christmas feast foods with a modern Australian twist to them, including pork belly, char-grilled scotch fillet, and a mouth-watering dessert buffet. Matching all these treats with some of the best wines and beers around, so visitors can enjoy the unforgettable experience of Hunter Valley with a charming Christmas atmosphere. Over a weekend Hope Estate will bring together two of Australia’s favourite things; Barbeque and Beer! Celebrating these two things with food stalls, delicious dinners, live music, and masterclasses. The beer will feature over 40 different craft beers and ciders, and a range of mouth-watering a slow-cooked meat. There are particular events each day, with cookout championships with the very best chefs around, to classes allowing visitors to try making their very own beer or meats.
