What’s better than chocolate? Locally made chocolate from the heart of the Hunter Valley. Chocolate is handcrafted in several different chocolateries in the Hunter Valley, including the Hunter Valley Chocolate Company (in two different locations), and Cocoa Nib in Pokolbin.

There’s nothing quite like some local produce! Chocolate of the Hunter Valley is locally made at the Hunter Valley Chocolate Company in Pokolbin.

Right in the middle of Pokolbin, you’ll find this wonderful chocolate shop. These artisanal chocolates are made with love! Sample and savour the flavours of this delicious chocolatey goodness. Well known for their unique and delicate chocolates using Belgian chocolate, the Hunter Valley Chocolate Company sell a taste to truly write home about. From indulgent, handcrafted chocolates to lip-smacking gelato and caramelly fudge, the sweet treats are endless!

Smelly cheese is great cheese! The Hunter Valley Smelly Cheese company offer a whole range of different tasting options.

Pop into the Hunter Valley Smelly Cheese Company to sample some fromage goodness.

The Smelly Deli is another fromagerie which has some amazingly tasty Australian cheeses, as well as imported cheeses. Sample some bits from their cheese and meat charcuterie boards!

In the middle of Pokolbin is where you’ll find the original shop. Opening its doors in 2004, the Smelly Cheese Shop puts on a whole range of cheese boards, cheese tastings, and antipasto platters. And if that’s not enough, end your cheese tasting with a bit of locally made gelato and sorbet from the Hunter Valley Gelato Company.

Of course, all this food is yummy and lip-smacking…but what’s good food if you don’t have some incredible wine to pair it with? The Hunter Valley has some of the best wineries in New South Wales – so don’t miss out on a good pairing!
